Welcome to ClayTime.
I'm Jackie Doucette.
My teaching career began with a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. In 2012, I had the privilege of studying pottery at NBCCD, widely regarded as the best craft school in the country. There, I immersed myself in the art of creating functional pottery, guided by some of the most inspiring ceramic artists. It was during this time that I quickly figured out how I could express myself, particularly in crafting sculptures and vases. This passion compels me to share the profound joy of pottery, inspiring others to unlock and explore their creativity in a nurturing and inviting space.
My Inspiration
It's a great gig! There’s nothing more rewarding than working with people who’ve always dreamed of getting their hands on the wheel and turning mud into something beautiful. The thrill of inspiring others and connecting them to their creativity is what fuels my passion every day. As both a teacher and a lifelong artist, I’m beyond excited to guide you in the art form closest to my heart. I’ve distilled years of experience into a method that’s not only friendly and approachable but also incredibly effective.
My studio is located in Hanwell, just 10 minutes outside of Fredericton.

Shinaid has been a clay instructor with Claytime for two years. Her favourite object to make is a teapot! She is a gentle and patient instructor who is especially passionate to teach her knowledge of clay on the pottery wheel to new and experienced potters alike. In her personal practice she creates clay objects for table and ritual, which embrace the earthy nature of the material itself.
